RGHS will continue to offer the extra-mural Sports programme throughout these changing and challenging times. We are very aware of the directives set out by the DBE and WCED with regards the discontinuation of all contact sports as well as the very strict procedures necessary for non-contact sports to continue.
Cross Country and On-the-Move sessions remain in place with learners participating with their masks on and remaining physically distanced from one another.
Squash and Football practices continue with masks and no sharing of balls.
Hockey and Netball practices continue with the emphasis on fitness, footwork skills and strength training.
- Should you wish to have your daughter exempt from her extra-mural please ensure that she collects a COVID-19 exemption form from the Sports Pavilion.
- Should your daughter wish to swop her extra-mural and attend On-the-Move during this time, please also ask that she pop into the Sports pavilion to discuss this.
- Sport will continue throughout the period 14 June to 2 July to ensure that the learners continue to exercise while writing tests and emphasising their studies. Look out for the revised times in next week’s newsletter.
- There will be no extra-mural sport in the last week of term 2 (4-9 July)
- There will be an Inter-House TRAIL event to look forward to in the last week of term. All RGHS Learners will be expected to participate.
