Rhenish Derby

The much-anticipated “RGHS Derby” once again brought excitement and competition, with our Stellenbosch rivals hosting this year’s event. The Football teams approached the matches with determination, fully aware of the strong competition they would face. Their performance was a testament to their skill and tenacity.

It was inspiring to see the players motivating and encouraging each other throughout the games. The 1st team, despite their valiant effort, were unable to secure a goal and ended up losing 3-0 to the Rhenish 1st team. On the other hand, the 2nd team delivered an impressive performance with a 2-0 victory.

Congratulations to both teams on their efforts. We are incredibly proud of how they represented us and demonstrated their fighting spirit. Well done!

Netball

On Thursday, 15 August our netball teams made their way to the Atlantic Seaboard for their final league match of the season against Camps Bay High School. The teams travelled by bus, but one of the buses took a wrong turn, causing a delay at the start of the games.

Despite this setback, the players quickly regrouped and played outstanding netball. Rustenburg ended the day on a high note, with nine out of ten teams securing victories in their matches.

Rhenish Derby

The Rustenburg teams journeyed to Boland for our annual RGHS vs RGHS derby. Stellenbosch was a hype of activity with neighbouring schools also hosting their derby fixtures. Our players struggled in the heat and fatigue from the previous day’s fixtures.

Although there were flashes of the impressive Rustenburg netball we’re accustomed to, our teams didn’t come away with a win this time.

Hockey

Hockey Report vs Rhenish

The famous “RGHS Derby” came around once again, with our Stellenbosch rivals hosting this year’s edition of the derby.

As is always the case, there are no easy games when playing against Rhenish, and some of our teams found the going tough. It was a special occasion for our matric learners who played the final games of their school career against the Stellenbosch powerhouse.

Congratulations to our team of the week, the U14A hockey team, who managed to notch up the sole victory against Rhenish.
