Tennis

Our tennis teams entered another week of the High School Tennis league fixtures. Despite tough competitors, the tennis team showed consistency and demonstrated resilience on court. It has been good to see their fighting spirit and teamwork. They have demonstrated that they are ambassadors of the school, whether winning or losing, they show respect and kindness to their opponents. We are very proud of you. Keep up the good work.

Margaret Krieg (Grade 11) has been selected for the Cape Town Tennis Team that will participate in the Synergy Cup tournament ( an interprovincial tournament for all the Cape provinces) from the 15th-16th March in George. We applaud you on your selection and wish you all the best in the tournament. 

PGSGU Swimming

Rustenburg participated in the PGSGU Swimming at Springfield on Tuesday, 13 February. The swimmers were determined to showcase their tenacity and exceptional skills, which were not hard to see in the water. They pushed every force and were incredibly determined. It was truly a spectacular moment to be part of.  Congratulations to all our swimmers for placing THIRD in the overall position.

Water Polo

Night series

The first team played in the Night Series against St Cyprians at Reddam. Despite the challenges the water polo players have faced, they have demonstrated their team spirit and drive for excellence. It was a thrilling and close encounter, Rustenburg managed to get a win. We are proud of you all and applaud your resilience.

Indoor Hockey

RGHS vs Pinelands/SCS/Bergvliet and Herschel

Another week of indoor hockey has passed, and our teams competed against Pinelands, St Cyprian’s, Bergvliet High School and Herschel at multiple venues. 

As has been the case in recent weeks, the improvement of our teams has been great to see and is reflected in a number of our results.

Congratulations to Danica Muller (Grade 10), who played her first game for the First Team, and also scored on debut. 

Golf

Zoey Rhoda (Grade 9) achieved an impressive feat by winning the 2024 Ladies King David Mowbray Club Championships that were held from 9-12 February. The tournament played over 36 holes in stroke play form. Zoey demonstrated her exceptional skills and determination and has secured a spot as the youngest-ever ladies’ club champion in the history of the tournament. Well done Zoey! We are so proud of your achievement.
